چکیده

The future large adaptive telescopes will trigger new constraints for the calibration of Adaptive Optics (AO) systems equipped with pre-focal Deformable Mirrors (DM). image DM actuators grid as seen by Wave-Front Sensor (WFS) may evolve during operations due to flexures opto-mechanical components present in optical path. latter result degraded AO performance that impact scientific operation. To overcome this challenge, it be necessary regularly monitor and compensate these DM/WFS mis-registrations either physically re-aligning some or updating control matrix system. In paper, we a strategy track using pseudo-synthetic model method is based on an invasive approach where signals are acquired on-sky, before operations, fed extract mis-registration parameters. We introduce compute most sensitive modes allows reduce number degrees freedom required algorithm minimize performance. demonstrate that, only few well selected signals, provides very good accuracy parameters estimation, under targeted accuracy, has negligible addition, appears robust varying operating conditions noise atmospheric turbulence performs equally both Pyramid Shack-Hartmann WFS.

A low cost adaptive optics system using a membrane mirror.

A low cost adaptive optics system constructed almost entirely of commercially available components is presented. The system uses a 37 actuator membrane mirror and operates at frame rates up to 800Hz using a single processor. Numerical modelling of the membrane mirror is used to optimize parameters of the system. The dynamic performance of the system is investigated in detail using a diffractive...

Low Cost Adaptive Optics

Building a low cost adaptive optics system of moderate performance is not difficult in principle, and in this article one approach adopted by our group is described. Our system is based on a membrane mirror, a Shack-Hartmann sensor and a simple control system. Two breadboard AO systems are described and we speculate on some possible future developments.

Adaptive Fusion of Inertial Navigation System and Tracking Radar Data

Against the range-dependent accuracy of the tracking radar measurements including range, elevation and bearing angles, a new hybrid adaptive Kalman filter is proposed to enhance the performance of the radar aided strapdown inertial navigation system (INS/Radar). This filter involves the concept of residual-based adaptive estimation and adaptive fading Kalman filter and tunes dynamically the fil...

A fast tracking adaptive array system for mobile communications

In slowly time-varying fading channels, adaptive diversity combining can reduce multipath fading of desired signal and suppress interfering signals. However, for fast time-varying fading channels, there are no effective techniques to achieve the same results. The continued use of decision directed adaptive array algorithms on the fast fading channels will cause error propagation. This paper pre...
